“Scone” simple recipe

“Scone” simple recipe

It may not be familiar to Japanese people, but it’s something I’ve been into lately.

Scone

Scone is a Scottish dish, heavier than Bannock. Baking flour added to wheat flour, barley flour, or oatmeal, combined with milk, lightly kneaded, formed and baked. Even though it’s called scones, there are English plain scones with a lot of butter and a little sweet American scones with chocolate and fruits. Wikipedia

I used to think that it was eaten at a cafe, but nowadays it is mostly handmade. At a cafe, it’s normal to have a set of plain scones with jam and cream. However, depending on the shop, it is too fluffy like bread and does not feel crunchy, or it is a little different from your favorite scones! ! It’s hard to find a scone that seems to be. So, recently I had a lot of free time under the influence of COVID-19, so I am enjoying homemade snacks. And I,m putting on a little bit of weight💧

My favorite is blueberry scones ❤ Besides, you can mix and bake whatever you like, such as matcha and coffee. In my case, when I add baking powder, my tongue becomes tingling, so I put an egg instead of baking powder to make it plump.

<recipe>

  • Flour (self-raising flour) 120g ← Pancake mix is acceptable
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Butter 50g ← Slice into small pieces
  • Beaten egg half
  • 20 ml of milk
  • Blueberry moderate amount

Put all the ingredients except the blueberries in the bowl and mix by hand. Adjust the amount of milk, not all milk. When the dough is clumped, knead the blueberries together and put them all together (frozen blueberries are moisturized so quickly). Press the dough with your palm and make it 2-3 cm thick. Cut with a kitchen knife, put in an oven warmed to 200°C, and bake for 20 minutes. This is done!
